Home Inspections

Do You Need to hire a Certified Home Inspector?

Buying a home is the biggest, most complicated  investment many make in a lifetime.   A mistake can end up costing  thousands of dollars.  I am a Certified Master Inspector® with InerNACHI, with over 40 years of construction experience.  I’ve been responsible for building hundreds of buildings, including residential construction.  As a certified Home Inspector, I’ve performed well over a thousand home inspections and know what I am doing.

What is covered in a home inspection?

I will bring that knowledge to you as you consider your real estate transaction to help you make a good decision on the purchase or sale of your home.  To give you an idea of what I look for during a  home inspection, you can look at the InterNACHI Standards of Practice for Performing Home Inspections.   This is a very thorough and comprehensive checklist that I use as a baseline for inspecting your home. From time to time,  I find things not covered by the inspection checklist or outside of my 40 + years of experience.  I research issues and continue to participate in improving my skills with InterNACHI training and associating with the other professionals throughout North America.

Products Provided after Home Inspections

  • I provide my clients with a thorough home inspection report both electronically and in a binder. The report will include color photographs with recommendations and concerns.
  • I welcome your attendance (or your agent’s attendance) at the inspection.  I am very happy to answer your questions.
  • I reinspect any required remediation.  FREE.

InterNACHI front-ends its membership requirements. InterNACHI turns down more than half the inspectors who want to join because they can’t fulfill the membership requirements.

InterNACHI-certified inspectors perform the best inspections, by far. InterNACHI-certified inspectors earn their fees many times over. They do more, they deserve more and, yes, they generally charge a little more. Do yourself a favor…and pay a little more for the quality inspection you deserve.

As I inspect your future home, I will address your questions and concerns about how items in the house operate or should be maintained. After all I am working for you and if I am not answering your questions I am not doing my job.

I provide detailed reports for your home or commercial real estate inspection.  You’ll find it easy to read and complete with photos of your property. You’ll get it quick too as I can often provide them directly from my mobile office.
